Texas Rescue Patrol

Texas Rescue Patrol (TRP) is a division of Texas Recreational Safety & Land Management, a Public Charity registered as 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization.

Similar to other volunteer Fire Departments and EMS agencies in the state, Texas Rescue Patrol is licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services, as an Emergency Medical Services First Responder Organization.

Multiple contractual agreements with both government and private entities afford Texas Rescue Patrol a potential response area of approximately 4,000 square miles. Our agency has helped Texans from El Paso, TX to as far east as Port Arthur, TX.

Texas Rescue Patrol is a professional organization that utilizes the latest tools and technology available to first responders, such as:

  • Specialized Emergency Vehicles
  • Ability to provide Basic Life Support
  • Air Unit, comprised of Commercial Drones and Light Fixed Wing Aircraft
  • Body Cams & Vehicle Dash Cameras
  • Professional Dispatchers
  • County-Wide Radio Communications System
  • Computer Aided Dispatch System with GPS Tracking Technology (Orna)
  • Digital Report Writing & Records System

There are many roles within our organization.  Some roles involve treating patients and other roles do not. Texas Rescue Patrol is staffed by volunteers from all walks of life. Some are State licensed EMT’s, Paramedics, and Peace Officers. Others are teachers, electricians, pilots, construction workers etc… However, all of our volunteers share a common passion for helping others in need.

Licensed Texas Rescue Patrol staff members wear distinct uniforms and operate fully marked emergency vehicles, which identify the organization.

Texas Rescue Patrol provides the following services to our community:

  • Acts as a force multiplier and augments the capability of other organizations
  • 24/7- EMS Emergency Response
  • Search and Rescue Operations (except high-angle or water rescue)
  • Disaster Relief Operations
  • Traffic Control
  • High Visibility Patrols in popular off-highway recreational areas where permission has been granted by the landowner or local authorities
  • Utilization of specialized off-road vehicles like Jeeps, UTV’s, ATV’s, Drones & Light Fixed Wing Aircraft
  • Professional Documentation and Reporting on incidents
  • Provide Park Management Services (if applicable)
  • Provide Enforcement of Park Rules & Regulations (when contracted to Manage Parks)
  • Vehicle Impounds/Parking Enforcement (When contracted to Manage Parks)
  • Provide Educational Tours (when contracted to Manage Parks)
  • Education, ATV Certification/Licensing Courses (available in El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM)
  • Provides Off-Highway Vehicle Decal Registration Services
  • Community Outreach Programs
